Summary and
additional information:
<- O. Savelieva, Department of Microbiology, Moscow State University. Methanogenic sludge of lab-scale bed reactor treating manure waste water; Russia. Sequence accession no. 16S rRNA gene: AY259630. Reduces 5-aminosalicylate with simultaneous deamination to 2-hydroxybenzyl alcohol during anaerobic growth with electron donors such as pyruvate, glucose or serine (23953). When grown on pyruvate, converts 3-aminobenzoate to benzyl alcohol and reduces benzaldehyde to benzyl alcohol (23953). (Medium 535, 28°C).
