CRMOX positive; Esc and Sal negative after 24 h; no plasmid found; autoagglutination test negative; rough colonies. Quality control strain according to DIN 58959-7 and 58959-9 (6924), Quality control strain according to DIN 58959-7 and 58959-9 (16730). Biotype 1. According to literature (7666) this specific strain is described as biotype 1A. However, American origin, 16S rRNA sequence and biochemical features (no esculin hydrolyses and no acid production from salicin within 48h) group the strain into biotype 1B.
