Taxonomy/description (1300, 1893, 1905, 25933). Sequence accession no. 16S rRNA gene: X73436. Utilizes 5-aminovalerate as sole energy source; there is some doubt about the ability of strain DSM 1283 (and also ATCC 13725) to ferment aminovalerate and, therefore, about the authenticity of the culture - (W. Buckel and J. Wiegel, personal commun.). (Medium 110, 37°C, anaerobic).
