<- NRRL <- Upjohn Comp., UC 3564 (Arthrobacter sp., N-18). Soil. Identified at DSMZ by partial 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis as Pseudochrobactrum sp. Produces novenamine (U.S. Pat. 3,652,536; U.S. Pat. 3,730,839). Enzymatic cleavage of the amide bond in novobiocin (1815). (Medium 92, 30°C).
