Propagation: ATCC complete growth medium: The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated RPMI-1640 Medium, Catalog No. 30-2001. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.
Temperature: 37.0°C
Subculturing: Protocol: Note: Cells grow as floating aggregates of round cell clusters. Clusters are alive while single cells have very low viability. Do not try to break up the clusters as this would decrease the viability. Centrifuge cell suspension every 2-3 days. After centrifugation, aspirate supernatant down to 1 ml above cell pellet .Resuspend cells by gentle swirling in 3-4 ml of fresh medium. Seed at a concentration of 2-2.5 X 10(4) viable cells/ml. Transfer to new culture flasks when necessary
Preservation: Freeze medium: 50% FBS + 40% Culture Media + 10% DMSO
Storage temperature: liquid nitrogen vapor phase
