Comments:HT is a human B cell lymphoma cell line originated in 1983 by Walter J. Urba and Dan L. Longo.
HT cells express mRNA for both IgM and kappa and express low levels of kappa on the cell surface.
Exposure of HT cells to protein kinase C activating phorbol esters such as PMA and PdBu induced profound growth inhibition.
HT cells have been reported to be Epstein-Barr virus genome negative.
Propagation: ATCC complete growth medium: The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated RPMI-1640 Medium, Catalog No. 30-2001. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.
Temperature: 37.0°C
Subculturing: Protocol: Cultures can be maintained by addition or replacement of medium. Establish new cultures at 2 X 10(5) viable cells/ml and maintain between 1 X 10(5) and 1 X 10(6).
Medium Renewal: Every 2 to 3 days
Preservation: Freeze medium: Complete growth medium supplemented with 5% (v/v) DMSO
