Comments:The cells were highly pleomorphic with prominent nuclei and nucleoli [PubMed ID: 212572]. Epithelial characteristics including desmosomes, microvilli, tight and gap junctions were observed by transmission electron microscopy [PubMed ID: 212572].
Propagation: ATCC complete growth medium: The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated RPMI-1640 Medium, Catalog No. 30-2001. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: 0.01 mg/ml bovine insulin; fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 20%.
Atmosphere: air, 95%; carbon dioxide (CO2), 5%
Temperature: 37.0°C
Subculturing: Protocol: Remove medium, add fresh 0.25% trypsin, 0.53 mM EDTA solution for 3 to 5 minutes, remove trypsin and let the culture sit at 37C for 3 to 5 minutes. Add fresh medium, aspirate and dispense into new flasks.
Subcultivation Ratio: A subcultivation ratio of 1:2 is recommended
