Spleen cells were fused with P3/NSI/1-Ag4-1 myeloma cells.
The antibody reacts with G. muris trophozoite surfaces.
Unlike 3C7.2 (ATCC CRL-1959 ), 1A3.1 (ATCC CRL-1961 ) and 1B1.1, the 2B5.3 antibody specifically recognizes trophozoite antigens of apparent molecular weight 31000 and 35000 on western blots.
The antibody immunoprecipitates two polypeptides with apparent molecular weights of 30000.
Propagation: ATCC complete growth medium: Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium with 4.5 g/L glucose, 80%;NCTC 109 medium, 10%;(Add 1 mM oxaloacetic acid, 0.45 mM sodium pyruvate, 4 mM L-glutamine, 0.1 mM hypoxanthine, 0.01 mM thymidine and 10 units/ml bovine insulin to this mixture);horse serum, 10%
Subculturing: Medium Renewal: Every 2 to 3 days
Cultures can be maintained by addition or replacement of fresh medium. Start cultures at 2 X 10 exp5 cells/ml and maintain between 1 X 10 exp5 and 1 X 10 exp6 cells/ml.
