Comments:Derived from a lymphoma induced with mineral oil and casein in a BALB/c mouse.
It is representative of a mature B lymphocyte just prior to the plasma cell stage of differentiation.
Tested and found negative for ectromelia virus (mousepox).
Propagation: ATCC complete growth medium: The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium, Catalog No. 30-2002. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: 2-mercaptoethanol to a final concentration of 0.05 mM; fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.
Temperature: 37.0°C
Subculturing: Protocol: Cultures can be maintained by addition or replacement of fresh medium. Start cultures at 1 x 10 exp5 cells/ml and maintain between 1 x 10 exp5 and 1 x 10 exp6 cells/ml.
Medium Renewal: Every 2 to 3 days
Preservation: Freeze medium: Complete growth medium, 95%; DMSO, 5%
Storage temperature: liquid nitrogen vapor phase
