Comments:RAW 309 Cr.1 was derived from the same tumor as RAW 309F.1.1 (see ATCC TIB-51 ).
The cells are negative for surface immunoglobulin (sIg-) Thy-1.2 (Thy-1.2-) and Ia (Ia-).
The cells will pinocytose neutral red and phagocytose latex beads and zymosan.
They will also lyse antibody coated sheep erythrocytes.
Tested and found negative for ectromelia virus (mousepox).
Propagation: ATCC complete growth medium: The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium, Catalog No. 30-2002. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.
Atmosphere: air, 95%; carbon dioxide (CO2), 5%
Temperature: 37.0°C
Subculturing: Protocol: Subcultures are prepared by scraping. Remove old medium, add fresh, dislodge cells and dispense into new flasks.
Subcultivation Ratio: A subcultivation ratio of 1:2 to 1:4 is recommended
Medium Renewal: 2 to 3 times per week
Preservation: Freeze medium: Complete growth medium supplemented with 5% (v/v) DMSO
Storage temperature: liquid nitrogen vapor phase
