Comments 注釋 :CAUTION: the cells are infected with and produce a B lymphotropic herpesvirus (RhEBV) and may represent a potential biohazard. Free RhEBV is present in the supernatant, and rhesus B lymphocyte transforming activity is present in the medium.
About 1% of the cells express virus capsid antigen, and all express the virus related nuclear antigen.
Propagation:ATCC complete growth medium: The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated RPMI-1640 Medium,Catalog No. 30-2001.
To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.
Subculturing:Subcultivation
Ratio: A subcultivation ratio of 1:2 to 1:3 is recommended
Medium Renewal: 2 to 3 times per week
Cultures can be maintained by addition or replacement of fresh medium.
Start cultures at 4 X 10 exp5 cells/ml and maintain between 4 X 10 exp5 and 2 X 10 exp6 cells/ml.
Preservation: Culture medium, 95%; DMSO, 5%
