Comments:C1R-sB7 is a stable transfectant cell line established in 1988 with a modified histocompatibility complex (MHC) HLA B7 gene. It secretes HLA B7 but does not express surface HLA B7. [38581 ]
C1R-sB7 was established by transfection by electroporation of the C1R cell line with a modified neomycin drug-resistant eukaryotic vector, pSP65-Neo carrying the gene for soluble B7 (sB7). It was selected in geneticin and cloned by limiting dilution.
C1R is a human B-cell lymphoblastoid line lacking surface HLA A and B antigens. C1R was derived from Hmy.2 B-LCL by gamma irradiation followed by selection for Class I monoclonal antibodies and complement. [23312 ]
C1R-sB7 has been a reference standard in International Workshops on soluble HLA.
Propagation: ATCC complete growth medium: The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated Iscove's Modified Dulbecco's Medium, Catalog No. 30-2005. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.

Subculturing: Medium Renewal: Every 2 to 3 days
Cultures can be maintained by transferring floating cells to additional flasks.
Attached cells may be subcultured by scraping.
