Comments:This line was established by C. Shih et al. in 1981 by transfecting NIH/3T3 cells with Bam H1 digested DNA from EJ-6-2 cells (NIH/3T3 cells transformed with DNA from the human EJ bladder carcinoma EJ).
The cells are morphologically transformed and highly tumorigenic in BALB/c and NSF mice.
Propagation: ATCC complete growth medium: Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium with 4.5 g/L glucose; 90%; bovine calf serum, 10%
Subculturing: Subcultivation Ratio: A subcultivation ratio of 1:100 is recommended
Medium Renewal: Twice per week
Remove medium, add fresh 0.25% trypsin, 0.03% EDTA, rinse and remove trypsin and let the culture sit at 37C until the cells detach (5 to 10 minutes). Add fresh medium, aspirate and dispense into new flasks. Subculture twice weekly.
