Comments:Animals were immunized with the 1670 cell line produced by immortalizing spleen cells from a whitelip tamarin with Herpesvirus saimiri.
Spleen cells were fused with P3/NSI/1-Ag4-1 myeloma cells.
The antibody recognizes a subset of CD8 positive T cells that have cytotoxic effector activity.
The S6F1 epitope is absent on CD8 positive suppressor cells.
Propagation: ATCC complete growth medium: Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium with 4.5 g/L glucose, 2 mM L-glutamine, 0.1 mM hypoxanthine, and 0.032 mM thymidine, 80%; heat-inactivated fetal bovine serum, 10%; heat-inactivated horse serum, 10%
Subculturing: Medium Renewal: Every 2 to 3 days
Cultures can be maintained by addition or replacement of fresh medium. Start cultures at 2 X 10 exp5 cells/ml and maintain between 2 X 10 exp5 and 1 X 10 exp6 cells/ml.
