Comments : Resistant to trypsin; not pathogenic for any animal except horse; no known cross-reactions; no hemagglutination and hemolysin produced. Extremely stable at -20C and below; remains viable for 2 months or more at 4C, but only for 2-3 days at 37C. Solid (probably lifelong) immunity produced by infection. Only one serotype known at time of deposit. About 43 nm diameter.
