Growth Conditions: ATCCmedium 2463: LYI-S-2 medium, modifiedTemperature: 35.0°C Duration: axenic; anaerobic Protocol: ATCCNO: 30016 SPEC: To subculture: Chill the parent culture in an ice bath for 5-10 minutes, suspend the organisms by inverting the tube 20 times, then transfer 0.1-0.5 ml of the suspension to fresh medium in a glass tube. Maintain parallel cultures at different inoculation levels. Cap the tubes tightly and maintain them in a horizontal position. Use only borosilicate glass tubes. Depending on its source, plasticware may not support growth, or at best may not support growth equivalent to that in glass.
